They’ve been hired to remodel a mansion. Will they end up getting a room?

Marisa Sanchez has grand designs for her future. After taking over her grandfather’s construction firm, the successful vlogger and civil engineer is about to take the next step with a new show on the Home Design Network. But she’s not pleased to find out she can only have the lucrative gig if she agrees to work with a handsome rival.

Levi Chance takes the responsibility of providing for his brothers seriously. So when his biggest client asks him to come into the spotlight to co-host a new program, he reluctantly accepts. But he fears the pretty, camera-loving partner he’s been assigned might bring his top-notch reputation tumbling down if she can’t deliver the goods.

Discovering her teammate is quite capable, Marisa battles her attraction to him as she ambitiously turns the project upside down. And the more Levi works with the smart Latina, the more he worries he’s about to push the “no sex” morality clause in their contract into forbidden territory.

Will Marisa and Levi’s fixer-upper turn into a happily together forever?

Renovated is the charming first book in the moving Chance Brothers contemporary romance series. If you like sparkling attractions, comedic moments, and steamy action, then you’ll love Nikki Kiley’s well-built romp.

EXCERPT:

A call from Rebecca Walton from the Home Network was the last thing I expected to deal with today, especially after my phone call to my brother.

“Influencer? Who the hell is she influencing?” I said, rubbing my eyes.

“Marisa Sánchez? She works out of Miami,” Rebecca said.

“Well, I’ve never heard of her.”

“You really need to get on social media, it would do wonders for your brand,” she said, exasperation dripping from her voice. “She’s a general contractor. You might have heard of her grandfather, used to run the company, Alfredo Sánchez.”

The pounding at the base of my head was building. In just a matter of minutes, it would travel to my temples, and make a home there until I could take a nap. It was just going to be one of those days. As the head of Chance Brothers Construction, I had to be careful how I told our clients what I thought of their ideas. I played along until I could convince them to see my version of what’s best for them.

“Rebecca, how does inheriting a business and having followers on the internet make her qualified to build a home and be the face of a show?”

I sat on the porch steps of the house we were finishing. The skeleton crew I brought with me today was laying the pavers for the entrance, retouching the paint where the home stagers who brought in the furniture yesterday smudged it, and going over the punch list. The For-Sale sign would go up tomorrow.

Although we had other projects lined up, we would still take on this new job for Home Network.

“Trust me. Marisa’s qualified and she has over three hundred thousand guaranteed viewers. I wouldn’t risk my career on someone who isn’t up for the challenge,” Rebecca said.

My mind was going through the mental gymnastics of figuring out how we were going to fit this into our already booked schedule. We were backlogged with projects into the next year. Still, when Home Network asks you to drop everything in the pipeline to take on an emergency job, you do it. We’d partnered with the network before and the payout on a filmed job could bring us double what we would earn on a regular job. Doing jobs for these shows built-up our reputation with our clients, and it looked good on our website.

“Hear me out. This show is a concept I came up with, targeting Marisa’s audience. They have rejected so many of my ideas, but I finally convinced my bosses to give me this opportunity.” It went without saying who gave the go ahead for the production, since her parents were the Home Network’s majority owners. “But I need your help to pull it off,” she continued. “Susan Walton specifically requested that I get you on board with this project. So please, don’t let me down.”

I sighed. Serious mommy issues there. “Figured that, since you’re calling me so last minute. I have to speak to my brothers. I can’t make a decision this significant without their input,” I reminded her. “Run the concept by me again.”
