WWW Wednesday - October 5 2011

Here is this week's post for WWW Wednesday, which is hosted by the lovely Should Be Reading.

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My responses:

What am I currently reading?

I just started The Scorch Trials after devouring The Maze Runner, both by James Dashner. I can tell this is going to be a really great series.

I'm still reading But I Love Him by Amanda Grace off and on, but I literally can only read a few pages (thankfully the chapters are short) before I have to put it down. As someone who has suffered a seriously abusive relationship this book is very hard to stomach. It is so realistic I sometimes find myself reliving certain moments from my past, and I don't enjoy that.

For school I am still reading Exploring Microsoft Office 2010 Volume 1 as well as my Calculus textbook. Exciting stuff!

What did I recently finish reading?

As mentioned, I just finished The Maze Runner by James Dashner and it was spectacular. My review will be posted soon.

Just before that I finished Variant by Robinson Wells, another really good book (except for the evil cliffhanger ending). My review for that will also be posted soon.

What do I think I will read next?

Obviously I am planning to read The Death Cure by James Dashner next. It is the final book in the trilogy and I already have an ARC waiting for me. My son is currently reading it and freaking me out because he keeps grunting and groaning while reading it and last night he actually put it back on the shelf and walked away from it (not finished it yet). That does not bode well...

WWW Wednesday - September 7 2011

Wow it's been a while since I have posted a WWW! I have been sooooo busy! I hope you will forgive me!

Here is this week's post for WWW Wednesday, which is hosted by the lovely Should Be Reading.

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My responses:

What am I currently reading?

I just started Drink, Slay Love by Sarah Beth Durst this morning on my way into work. I'm less than 50 pages into it so I'm not quite sure how I feel about it...but so far I'm not super impressed.

I've also been reading But I Love Him by Amanda Grace, but I literally can only read a few pages (thankfully the chapters are short) before I have to put it down. As someone who has suffered a seriously abusive relationship this book is very hard to stomach. It is so realistic I sometimes find myself reliving certain moments from my past, and I don't enjoy that.

For school I am reading Exploring Microsoft Office 2010 Volume 1. Exciting stuff!

What did I recently finish reading?

I have finished quite a few books since my last update, but the most recent was Bloodlines by Richelle Mead, which I felt was a bit of a let down from what I was expecting. My review will be posted soon.

Just before that I finished Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick, and that one far surpassed my expectations. I actually recommend everyone rush out and read that one right now! My review for Ashes is here.

What do I think I will read next?

I'm trying hard to keep up to date with books that are to be released in the near future. I created a nice little spreadsheet to track everything. According to that I should be reading The Shadowing: Hunted by Adam Slater next. We will see how that goes though...

WWW Wednesday - August 3rd 2011

Here is this week's post for WWW Wednesday, which is hosted by the lovely Should Be Reading.

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My responses:

What am I currently reading?

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa because I am trying to get caught up on the Iron Fey series so I can read the ARC NetGalley of The Iron Knight I was approved for.

Due to my slight obsession with wolves, I am also reading The Sea Wolves by Ian McAllister, a non-fiction documentation of the coastal wolves that inhabit Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia, Canada.

I am also reading Living With Wolves by Jim and Jamie Dutcher. I watched the documentary that accompanies this book and it was amazing! It came with a CD with wolf vocalizations I have been listening to while doing my homework. I find it oddly relaxing...my German Shepherds however are not amused...

I have also been reading my textbook in preparation for my final exam...but that doesn't count...does it?

What did I recently finish reading?

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson, my first NetGalley ARC pick. It was really really good! I can't wait to review this. Everyone should read this book!

What do I think I will read next?

Most likely I will read The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa next followed by the ARC NetGalley of The Iron Knight. I also still have to fit in The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman before the end of August to tie up my 2011 Summer YA Challenge. I also have an ARC NetGalley of The Poisoned House by Michael Ford waiting to be reviewed before September 1st, so that's on my immediate to be read pile as well.

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson, my first NetGalley ARC pick. it is really really good! I can't wait to finish and review this.

What did I recently finish reading?

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. What a great first book in her YA trilogy. I am surprised I have never read it before now. (Review coming soon).

Due to my slight obsession with wolves, I am also reading The Seal Wolves by Ian McAllister, a non-fiction documentation of the coastal wolves that inhabit Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia, Canada.

What do I think I will read next?

Most likely I will read The Iron Daughter and The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa next because I was approved for an ARC NetGalley of The Iron Knight...and who can pass that up? I will also have to fit in The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman before the end of August to tie up my 2011 Summer YA Challenge.

WWW Wednesday - July 20th 2011

Here is this week's post for WWW Wednesday, which is hosted by the lovely Should Be Reading.

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My responses:

What am I currently reading?

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong for my YA Summer Challenge, and for personal pleasure because Kelley Armstrong has been a long-time favourite author of mine!

What did I recently finish reading?

Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. So sad this series has come to an end. (review coming soon).

What do I think I will read next?

I only have one more book to read for my YA Summer Challenge, and that is The Golden Compass. So I will either read that, or one of the review copy books I have received in the last 2 weeks. For some reason I'm not really looking forward to reading The Golden Compass so I might hold off on that one for a bit.

Here is this week's post.

The Summer of Skinny Dipping by Amanda Howells (review coming soon).

What do I think I will read next?

I only have a few books left for my summer challenge, one of which won't even be out until later this month (and I have a HUGE surprise planned for that one once I get to 50 followers!) so it is a toss up between The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong and The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.

What do you think I should read?
