I promised things would pick up in June, after attending my first BEA (Book Expo America) - and I am here to deliver!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!
Just do the following:
1. Grab your current read.
2. Open to a random page.
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
4. Share the title and author too so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
I walk up to him, It takes five seconds for him to look at me. "Hello," I say. "I lost my memory. I was wondering if you could help."These teasers are from False Memory by Dan Krokos. I have been hesitant to read this book after all the Goodreads controversy surrounding the author, but I actually had the pleasure of conversing with him at BEA. He was extremely sincere and apologetic, and I was intrigued by the synopsis so decided to snag myself a signed copy and give it a chance. I am only 40 pages in and I have to admit that so far I am quite enjoying it.
Left with no choice but to trust this stranger, Miranda discovers she was trained to be a weapon and is part of an elite force of genetically-altered teens who possess flawless combat skills and powers strong enough to destroy a city. But adjusting to her old life isn't easy--especially with Noah, the boyfriend she can't remember loving. Then Miranda uncovers a dark truth that sets her team on the run. Suddenly her past doesn't seem to matter...when there may not be a future.~
Share your teaser with me!
Wow, I've been blind from the blogging world apparently. I didn't know there was controversy. But there always is drama, isn't there? I'm glad you decided to overlook it all and give this one a shot. It's one that I'm really looking forward to reading. Great teaser :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
There is always drama isn't there? The world would be boring without it. Sometimes I can move past it and give things a fresh chance, but there are others who were so horrible I would never give that second chance to.
DeleteThis sounds like a good read. I'm going to check it out. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome! And if you do check it out I would love to hear your thoughts!
