[Meme] Teaser Tuesday - First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

Just do the following:

1. Grab your current read.
2. Open to a random page.
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
4. Share the title and author too so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
"I'm blind!" I yelled, shielding my eyes with my arms. I tried to focus on the floor, the sink, the Clorox ToiletWand. Nothing but a bright white blur. I totally needed to lower my wattage.

This teaser is from First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones and is the first book in the Charley Davidson series. I saw a reading challenge and decided to join in. It's a little more "adult" than I was expecting...not that I mind though...
A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper.

Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light.” But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Share your teaser with me!

  1. This sounds really interesting and the teaser gives it a nice touch of humour to it too. Will have to give this a try. Great pick.

    1. I am just 20 pages into it, so it's hard to judge, but so far it's intriguing. Thanks for stopping by!
