What Should I Read Sunday #1

I wanted some advice from my readers, and I most likely will ask this question a lot, so I figured I would make it kind of like a meme.

Here's how it works. Every week I will pick a theme. After deciding on a theme I will choose 2 or more "competitors" and I will let the readers vote for what I will read next based on their comments. If you don't like either option feel free to throw something else out into the pile.

For this first week I am going to start with series. I love series, especially when they are really good series. The last really good series I read was Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I was really hoping Bloodlines by Richelle Mead would be my next go to series, but as I mentioned in my recent review, it really let me down.

So...I'm looking for a new series...and I want to know what series you love! I am going to list a few options below and I want YOU to tell me which series I should pick, and WHY. Really sell it to me!

Option One:
Lauren Kate's Fallen Series

Option Two:
Andrea Cremer's Nightshade Series

Option Three:
Jeri Smith Ready's Shade Series

Other Nominations:
Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series nominated by A Thinker's Blog.
Maria V. Snyder's Study Series nominated by Hannah from Once Upon A Time.
Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires Series nominated by Arianne Cruz.
Your pick here!

I look forward to reading everyone's votes and comments!

  1. My choice would be none of those. Go with Stephanie Plum.

  3. I haven't read any of those though I've heard a lot of bad things about Lauren Kate's books and I'm particularly interested in Andrea Cremer's books if that's at all helpful.

If you haven't read Maria V Snyder's Study series yet (though I imagine you have) I recommend that one.
    :)

  4. Actually I haven't read that, or even heard it! I will add it to the list! Thanks for reading.

  5. I would say you have to check out the MORGANVILLE VAMPIRE series if you haven't read it yet.. It would be the next favorite for sure.

  6. Hmmm...I have not read that either. Yet another one to add to the list. Thanks!

  7. I second Maria V.Snyder Study books because I love kick-ass girls, so the rest of my recommendations will have the same type of protagonists. Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow, Madison Avery series by Kim Harrison, Raised by Wolves series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Darkest Powers Trilogy by kelley Armstrong, Curse Workers series by Holly Black... I'd better stop now :)

  8. I will have to look into all of these! (Except Kelley Armstrong who I already adore.) Thanks for the input!

  9. Shade!!!! I totally adore those books.

But ditto to the commenters who said they've heard bad stuff about Fallen and that the Morganville books are AWESOME.

And re: the Stephanie Plum books, I really enjoyed the first few, but I don't think I got past book 7 or 8 because they started getting so ridiculous. The same stuff was happening over and over again, and Stephanie was just so stupid. Haha I'm still bitter, can you tell? Obviously tons of people still like them, but I definitely had to stop reading them.
